Ragefire Chasm

    Dungeon Overview

RFC is open to players who are levels 18 and below in Hardcore mode, but it is suggested to enter when you are above level 14. The dungeon teaches fundamental mechanics such as mob positioning, crowd control, and group composition. Since it is the inaugural dungeon in the game, it follows a straightforward progression path and is widely regarded as the easiest. Historically in SSF Hardcore, the average level death is 14, so it is highly recommended to run this dungeon if you are able to in order to make the transition into the middle portion of the Barrens and Silverpine more smooth. This is essentially a Horde exclusive dungeon, but it is possible to enter this dungeon as an Alliance player in Hardcore (ask Tainted_hc how!).

    Estimated Completion Time: 45-60 mins

    Things to Look Out For

While you're exploring Ragefire Chasm, there are a couple of things you should keep an eye on to make sure your dungeon run goes smoothly. First off, be extra careful around the lava - it's not just there for decoration! Taking an accidental dip can result in some serious damage and even death. So, watch your step and be mindful of your surroundings.

Another thing to be cautious about is mobs lurking right at the entrance of the dungeon. If you're a low-level player, these can aggro on you as soon as you walk in. Make sure you're ready for a fight the moment you step in.

The Ragefire Shamans are a dangerous caster mob. They’re in densely packed rooms and can chain pull multiple packs, making them a significant threat. Their spells can cause significant damage so the best strategy is to range pull and line of site them until they are in melee range.

In the main room with the orcs and Taragaman the Hungerer, there are 3 patrolling orcs*. These mobs can cause issues if they show up at inopportune moments, IE during one of the several 4 mob pulls or during the Taragaman fight. It is recommended that you mark them and keep an eye on them.

    Quests

    Hidden Enemies - Horde

You can begin and complete this 5-part quest chain by talking to Thrall in Orgrimmar. To kick off the quest, you'll need to loot a Lieutenant's Insignia from the Burning Blade agents in a cave located to the east of Orgrimmar. Once you've spoken to Nero Fireblade in the Cleft of Shadow and reported back to Thrall, your next task is to venture into RFC and defeat the final two bosses, Bazzalan and Jurgosh the Invoker.

    Rewards:

    Slaying the Beast - Horde

You can pick this quest up by speaking with Nero Fireblade in the Cleft of Shadow. You will need to loot Terrigaman the Hungerer's Heart from Terrigaman the Hungerer, who is situated in the last room of RFC.

Searching for the Lost Satchel - Horde

To embark on this two-part quest chain, you need to visit Rahauro on the Elder Rise in Thunderbluff. Your first objective is to locate Mar Grimtotem, a tauren who vanished inside RFC. You'll find Mar's body in a small cave guarded by Ogelflint, a mini-boss, and two other elite Trogs. Once you've defeated Ogelflint, speak with Mar to obtain the next part of the quest chain, which involves returning the Lost Satchel to Rahauro in Thunderbluff.

    Testing Enemy’s Strength - Horde

To begin this quest, you need to talk to Rahauro in Thunderbluff. You will need to defeat 8 Ragefire Trogs and 8 Ragefire Shaman in RFC. These are located in the primary room of RFC and its adjacent corridors.

This quest is picked up from Varimathras in the Undercity. Players must loot two spellbooks from Searing Blade mobs in RFC: the Spells of Shadow and the Incantations from the Nether. Both spellbooks can drop off of Searing Blade Cultists and Searing Blade Warlocks found in the second half of the dungeon.
